Andri Snær Magnason: Blue Planet

Poet, novelist, author of children's books. Born 1973 in Reykjavik. He is heavily involved in the fight against climate change. Winner of the Icelandic Prize for Literature — for the book Draumalandið — Sjálfshjálparbók handa hræddri þjóð (2006, Land of Dreams — Self-Help Guide for a Frightened Nation) and the children's book Sagan af bláa hnettinum (1999, The Story of the Blue Planet). In 2016, a hot candidate for the President of his country, out of nine candidates came out third. His books Chest of Time (2021) and About Time and Water (2022) were published in Czech — both of which touch on the future of our planet in the face of an ongoing natural disaster. His message is clear, what we do not save, no one else will. His books have been translated into more than thirty languages.
